Coming from the glamorous world of Ballroom and Latin at a very early age, Ian learnt partner work to the highest level, where he became the Open Russian, Canadian and United Kingdom Ballroom and Latin Champion. 

 

Ian always craved to perform on a West End stage and develop his dance style skills further, and he finally got his chance when the biggest-selling pre-sales box office smash, “Dirty Dancing”, came to the West End stage. He was in the original cast, which debuted at the Aldwych Theatre, London October 2006, where Ian was the Dance Captain and then went on to work as Assistant Choreographer throughout this 3-year period. 

 

During his time in the West End, Ian got many opportunities to work with music artists such as Lily Allen, Kylie Minogue and Cheryl, adding to his multiple dance styles. Following his accomplishments on stage, Ian got many offers to create TV commercials with Puma, Chivas Whiskey and Aviva, where he used his experience to develop Movement Directing within the industry. 

 

Ian has choreographed and created for many top music artists, such as up-and-coming singer Ryan Mack, Walking On Cars, Becky Hill, Nathan Carter, Jake Carter, Phildel, Maya Diab, Elissa, and one of the best-selling groups of all time, Westlife. 

 

After leaving the west end, he has worked regularly on reality TV dance shows such as Dancing On Ice, Got To Dance, So You Think You Can Dance, Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing With The Stars all over the world which he was involved in choreographing, creating and style consultant for. 

 

His work was admired by Strictly Come Dancing stars, Neil Jones and Katya Jones, as they asked him to assist with the choreography and directing of their second instalment of the successful stage show Somnium at Sadlers Wells in 2019. 

 

In 2021, Ian worked and choreographed for BBC Poldark actor Aidan Turner for an upcoming short film Paso Doble directed by TV and Film actress Heida Reed. 

 

Ian brought his talents to a higher level when he created and choreographed a brand-new dance musical. The Blonde Bombshell ( The Life and Times of Marilyn Monroe ) had its world premiere in Dublin, Ireland, in November 2022 to a sell-out audience. 

 

As well as working as a choreographer & movement director on major TV Film and Music projects, Ian also creates and develops pitches and treatments for recorded & live productions, covering TV, Theatre, Streaming & more. 

 

Ian also prepares top-calibre workshops for aspiring & professional artists, bringing Latin dance to another level by adding a more commercial feel which is hugely popular within the industry.
